Interpreting - Translation




Here are some expressions commonly used in discussing trade fairs, catalogues and brochures matters.

Listen to attend a fair - take part in a fair
Listen to brochure - leaflet, a small book usually having a paper cover
Listen to business card - a card on which the person's name and business affiliation are printed
Listen to catalogue - a book or large pamphlet created to accompany an exhibition. The catalogue may contain a table of contents, one or more essays, photos of artworks in the exhibit plus other photos, a checklist of the artworks in the exhibition and an index.
Listen to construct a stand - build up a stand
Listen to dismantle a stand - take apart a stand
Listen to exchange cards - the act of changing cards
Listen to exhibit - show or demonstrate something to an interested audience
Listen to exhibition - a collection of things (goods or works of art etc.) for public display
Listen to exhibitor - someone who organizes an exhibit for others to see
Listen to fact sheet - a presentation of data with general desire to convey the most relevant information in the least amount of space
Listen to fair - gathering of producers to promote business
Listen to fair pass - an authorization to pass or go to a fair
Listen to floor space - exhibition space
Listen to latest catalogue - most recent or most up-to-date catalogue
Listen to mail circular - direct mail advertising
Listen to on display - something shown to the public
Listen to poster - a sign posted in a public place as an advertisement
Listen to price list - a listing of prices for different goods or services
Listen to rental cost - money paid for the use of something
Listen to sample - a small part of something intended as representative of the whole
Listen to stand - a booth where articles are displayed for sale, for example at a trade fair
